Most tactical harnesses aren’t tactical
Search “tactical dog harness” and you’ll find a lot of black nylon with a plastic clip and a $40 price tag. They look the part in a photo. They’re not built to cop a 35kg dog hitting the end of a lead.

The Deadlock — metal quick-release buckle
The single biggest difference between this harness and a cheap one.
Most harnesses in this category use a plastic side-release clip — the same type on a school backpack. Ours uses a metal quick-release buckle, riveted, load-rated, and designed to release under tension. Squeeze the tabs and it opens instantly, even with a dog pulling against it.
It’s the part you’ll notice first and appreciate longest. Plastic clips fail cold, fail dirty, and fail at the worst possible moment.
Bad Breath — full spacer-mesh lining
Look inside a cheap harness and you’ll find thin foam glued to nylon. It traps heat and it holds smell.
The entire inner face of this harness is spacer mesh — an open, three-dimensional weave that lets air move against your dog’s chest. It matters in an Australian summer, and it matters on a dog that works.

The parts nobody photographs, which is exactly where cheap harnesses cut corners.
Bound and taped edges on every panel — no raw nylon to fray
Bar-tacked stress points at every load-bearing junction
Welded D-rings, not open split rings that pull apart
Double-stitched heavy nylon webbing throughout
The Scruff — reinforced grab handle
A padded handle across the back, stitched into the load-bearing structure rather than tacked onto the fabric.
For lifting a dog into a ute, holding one steady at the vet, or getting hold of them fast when you need to.
The Rap Sheet — velcro patch panels
Loop panels on both sides, sized for custom name patches.
Put your dog’s name on it. Or DO NOT PET, or IN TRAINING, or something less polite — we don’t judge. Patches are made and printed here in Australia, and they’ll stay put through mud, rain and a decent roll in something dead.
Add two custom patches for $10 when you order, or buy them separately.
Sizing
Made for larger dogs. Check the measurements against your dog’s chest before ordering — a harness that doesn’t fit properly isn’t safe, no matter how well it’s built.
